Rolling Exhibition: Life at Ground Level

Kevin Connolly was born in Helena, Montana in August of 1985. Born without legs, Kevin was otherwise a healthy baby and grew up like any other Montana kid. He began skateboarding and taking photographs for the first time in 2005. His first taste of living aboard came in 2006 when he left to study in New Zealand for one year. It was on the return â€“ skating down a backstreet in Vienna â€“ that Kevin took his first prototype photo for what was to become â€œThe Rolling Exhibition.â€* This project has led Kevin to capture over 32,000 pictures across 15 countries and 31 cities all while detecting one stare.

Blending a unique combination of improvisational comedy, education and audience participation, Sex Signals provides a provocative, in-your-face look at issues surrounding dating, sex and date rape on college campuses. Through the use of humor, the show explores how mixed messages, gender role stereotypes and unrealistic fantasies contribute to misunderstandings between the sexes. Since 2000, the presentation has been performed over 1600 times at over 400 colleges throughout the country and dozens of military installations around the world. It has become one of the most popular programs on sexual assault awareness among college audiences, military personnel, and educators.

Welcome back for spring semester! To try and start the semester off right, PHPO would like to have a Welcome Back Social on Tuesday, February 9th. The Social will have pizza, soda, etc and we will also be having a speaker. The speaker’s name is Carlos Fernandez. Dr. Fernandez is a representative for the American University of Antigua. For those that do not know, Antigua is an island in the Caribbean; a very prosperous island that hosts two Medical Schools. Dr. Fernandez will be telling us about the school. We understand that not everyone is Pre-Med, so it is good to note that AUA provides degrees for several health-related fields.

I hope a lot of you can make it. We will be handing out the t-shirts at this time as well. Dr. Fernandez is planning on speaking at 6pm, so please arrive between 5:30 and 5:45pm to pick up your shirt and grab some pizza. The meeting will be in the usual Halsey 109 lecture pit.

Hi Everyone,

We are having our next PHPO meeting Tuesday on March 2^ndat 5:30pm. I hope everyone can make it. We are going to be presenting a lot of valuable information including summer internship opportunities and voting on where our allocations money is going to go. Because there are going to be votes, it is important that as many people as possible show up.

Since there is a lot of information, please plan ahead for studying, eating, or TIVOing NCIS (or something of that sort), so that you are able to stay and receive all of the information. We will make it as quick as possible, but plan on the meeting lasting until 6:30-7:00pm to be safe.

Also, if you have not paid for your t-shirt yet or have not picked it up, you will have that opportunity at the meeting. We are also selling the t-shirts with the spelling error (printer’s fault) for $5 each whether they are long sleeve or short sleeve. The spelling error is very small, so it is a good deal and a chance to raise extra money for PHPO.

We also have a large bin for PopTabs. We have a ton of PopTabs, but need more to maximize our donation to Children’s Hospital so bring all of them you can and remember that is not too late to start collecting. Every PopTab helps a great cause.

Hands On Oshkosh is the largest one day service event on campus! Join 250 students, staff, and faculty to do service around the community. All participants receive a free t-shirt! There is no cost to join the fun!

The latest statistic states that 1 in 110 children in the U.S. has an Autism Spectrum Disorder (http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/autism/index.html). Please try to help find out why!

The 5K walk (there is also a short cut) will start and end at Tanner's Grill & Bar, in Kimberly, Wisconsin. This year's walk features comedians Miller & Mike, pony rides and a petting zoo, carnival games, raffles, and fun for all ages. The start time is 11:00 am and finishes when either you have finished walking or

Registration is $10.00 per person. We need at least 12 people to form a team and then we will get our SCEC name printed on the back of our FREE shirts!! We must register by April 9, 2010; however since I will need time to get things all straightened out I would like a definant answer by March 31, 2010. As soon as I know who for sure is walking AND I have the money in my hands I will register our team.

“Legally Blonde,” for those who may have missed the film franchise starring Reese Witherspoon (a 2001 movie followed by a 2003 sequel), is a musical adaption of the hit comedy about perky sorority gal Elle Woods who majors in fashion merchandising and storms Harvard Law School with her little dog Bruiser in hopes of winning back her old boyfriend, Warner Huntington III. The traveling version of the award-winning play has received rave reviews around the country.
